Thorngate Living’s celebratory tea party, held to mark Gosport’s Older Persons Month in October, proved a big hit with Thorngate Living residents, neighbours and the wider community. The open-house tea party, held at Melrose Gardens’ residents’ lounge, Peacheys, on the 21st October, featured a prize raffle, opportunities for early Christmas shopping at a variety of Christmas crafts and gifts stalls, and of course, afternoon tea and cakes were served.
Jill Francis, Thorngate Living’s housing and support manager said today: “It was a super tea party with lots of delicious homemade cakes. We met many new friends who were interested to learn about the services we offer in Gosport. Everybody enjoyed themselves and we raised £160 which will be spent on activities and events for residents.
Jill added: “Events such as these are not only important to our residents who have a good deal of fun, they also help raise our profile and spread the word locally about the work of the Trust in Gosport.”
