Thorngate Living is marking Gosport’s Older Persons Month with a celebratory open-house tea party and craft fair at its residents’ lounge, Peacheys, at Melrose Gardens in Gosport. A grand raffle will be held and there’ll be an opportunity to kick off the Christmas shopping at a variety of Christmas crafts and gifts stalls. For those making a voluntary donation to Thorngate Almshouse Trust charity, splendid afternoon tea and cakes will be served.
The event is being held on Friday, 21st October between 2.00pm and 4.00pm and as well as tea, cakes, shopping and fun, there will be an opportunity to meet staff at Thorngate Living and learn about the housing and care services offered by one of the area’s leading providers of independent assisted living and residential care.
Jill Francis, Thorngate Living’s housing and support manager says: “Older Persons Month gives us the perfect excuse to hold a celebratory afternoon tea party! We’re already well known for our excellent cakes and we’ll be holding a grand raffle. They’ll also be lots of crafts and gift stalls for some early Christmas shopping.
Jill adds: “The tea party gives us a chance to showcase the outstanding residential care we offer at Russell Churcher Court and the accommodation offered in our housing schemes in Gosport.”
A key feature of Thorngate Living is the reassurance provided by full-time, resident wardens at each of the Trust’s properties. This means that trained and friendly staff are available to help with arranging repairs and maintenance, deliveries and ensuring that the buildings stay secure at all times. In addition they can give guidance on local services and help ensure residents have access to the benefits and support to which they are entitled.
Peacheys is located in Melrose Gardens, Gosport, PO12 3BZ. Please note there is no parking available.
