Thorngate Living is completing the restructuring of its management team with the key appointment of Jill Francis as Housing and Support Manager. Jill joins Thorngate Living from Choice Support, where as an experienced Registered Service Manager she worked extensively with vulnerable older people and young adults. Jill’s expertise includes designing support plans, supporting strategic development programmes, staff recruitment and training and stakeholder liaison and partnership working.

As Thorngate Living’s Housing and Support Manager, Jill will manage the housing schemes at Melrose Gardens, Elizabeth Court and Thorngate Court and coordinate the on-site resident wardens, establishing and sharing best practice and championing continuous improvement. An important aspect of her work will be providing support for the charity’s strategic development plan.

Anne Taylor, Chief Executive of Thorngate Almshouse Trust, said: “Jill’s appointment to the management team adds considerably to the professional expertise here at Thorngate Living. Her experience with vulnerable older people and young adults will be invaluable as we shape new support services to meet developing needs.

“Residents tell us that our 24/7 warden support is a key benefit of Thorngate Living. Jill will oversee the Warden team, developing innovative new practices and sharing best practice with our partners in the sector.”

Jill Francis added: “I am thrilled to be joining the Thorngate Living team. The charity has an excellent reputation and I’m looking forward to working with Anne, developing new services and leading the continuous improvement programme.

A feature of Thorngate Living is the reassurance provided by full-time, resident wardens at each of the Trust’s properties. This means that trained and friendly staff are available to help with arranging repairs and maintenance, deliveries and ensuring that the buildings stay secure at all times. In addition they can give guidance on local services and help ensure residents have access to the benefits and support to which they are entitled.
