Catering manager

At Thorngate Living we are justifiably proud of the delicious meals we make and serve every day for our residents.

We are now looking to appoint a new catering manager to oversee the kitchen operation and manage the team. We offer a competitive salary based on experience.

Our modern, well-equipped professional kitchen, is located at Russell Churcher Court care home and caters for a range of dietary requirements, creating varied menus from fresh, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, organised and experienced. This role is accountable to the care home's Registered Manager.

A team player, the ideal candidate will have a proactive approach and able to work on their own initiative and be able to confidently manage a team. Thorngate Living champions best practice and innovation and this role will suit an applicant with a similar approach.

Other essential aspects of the role include adherence to hygiene standards in compliance with Food Safety Act 1990 and the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 including correct use, storage and maintenance of cleaning materials within COSHH Regulations 1994. 

Rigorous monitoring of procedures, ordering of supplies and efficient record are important.
